Your Contra Account represents the source of money for all your Pleo expenses (card transactions, invoices and direct reimbursements).
- You will have at least one Contra Account in your main (default) currency. If you enable multi-currency in Pleo, you can create contra-accounts per multi-currency.
- An account should be created in your accounting system for every Contra Account you have in Pleo.
- In Pleo, navigate to Settings
- Click Accounting
- Access Contra accounts
- Configure you Contra Account(s)
- If you use a CSV integration
- Select an existing account from the dropdown
- Alternatively, create a new contra account in both Pleo (click + Create new account) and your accounting system
- If you use a direct API integration
- Select the Pleo Contra Account from the list of accounts
- Alternatively, create a new account in your accounting system and select it as a Contra Account
Good to know: If you previously created a Pleo Wallet account, select it as your company’s default currency Contra Account.
If you are using Exact Online or NetSuite integration, please follow these additional steps:
To set the default Contra Account in Exact Online
- In Pleo, go to Settings
- Access Accounting
- Select Set Up
- Find the Expense Bank Journal under Accounting configurations
- Access Contra Accounts
- Select an account which corresponds exactly to the Expense Bank Journal
If you have not created the Expense Bank Journal/Account in Exact Online
- In Exact Online, navigate to Financial
- Go to Banking & Cash
- Select Overview under Bank accounts
- On the Bank Accounts page, click New
- Enter any number into the Bank account number field (this won't impact anything)
- Name the Journal
- In Advancedoptions, choose the currency - ensure that the selected currency matches your Pleo Wallet currency.
- Click Save
To create a new bank account in NetSuite
- In NetSuite, go to Setup
- Navigate to Accounting
- Open Chart of Accounts
- Click New
- Select Type: Bank
- Enter an account number, name and select the appropriate currency (e.g. Euro for a Pleo Euro wallet or USD for Pleo USD wallet)
