Getting started as an external bookkeeper

This article is intended for external bookkeepers who are not members of the company. View Get started as a controller to learn more from a controller perspective.


Access your clients' accounts

  • If you're working independently, click on your profile picture in the bottom left corner and switch between client accounts.
  • If you're working with one of Pleo's partner accountancies, go to the Clients page, click on the three dots next to a client's name, and click Go to client.


Connect Pleo to your client's accounting system

  1. Go to Settings 
  2. Access Accounting
  3. Click on your client's accounting system in the list available


Set up the accounting system and export expenses

Learn how to set up your contra account, categories, and tags, configure your accounting system, and export expenses.


Good to know: As an external bookkeeper, you'll access Pleo through the web app only. You won't receive any physical or virtual Pleo cards.
