How to top-up your Pleo Wallet

Learn how to transfer funds to your Pleo Wallet (and how long it takes for them to arrive)

In order to use your Pleo cards, you need to have funds in your company’s Wallet.
This article covers:


How to top-up your Wallet

  1. Go to the "Wallet".

  2. Click on "Top-up".

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Good to know:

  • The bank information is unique to your company

  • In some cases we may need to ask for more information from you, in order to top up your funds.

  • As soon as the funds hit our partner’s bank account, they will be automatically linked to your Pleo wallet and you will receive an e-mail notification.


How long does it take for my Wallet to be topped-up?

First Wallet top-up

Your first Wallet load can take up to several business days to arrive, as Pleo needs to complete an initial verification of your bank account. This happens every time you pay with a new bank account.
Note: This is not applicable for US wallet loads.

There are different transfer times depending on the transfer method and the country.

It is not possible to manually top-up your US wallet.


My Wallet top-up hasn't arrived

If your Wallet top-up still hasn't arrived, the reasons (in order of likelihood) are that:

  1. First transfer to your Pleo account
    As such, it takes Pleo an extra business day to make sure that the source of funds (e.g., your business bank account) matches the name of your Pleo organisation. All subsequent transactions from the same bank account will go through without this extra step.

  2. You've changed bank accounts
    In this case, please wait an extra business day (as in the first scenario) for us to approve your source of funds.

  3. If you've double-checked the expected transfer time and conclude that your funds still should've been loaded by now, please reach out to our support team by chat or email.


Important: Pleo can only accept funds from your business bank account

As a regulated financial services institution, Pleo has some rules about your Wallet's source of funds.

We can accept funds sent from:

  • An EEA or UK business account registered in the same company name as your Pleo account.

  • E-money institutions where the original sender details are readable and match the company name in your Pleo account.

We cannot accept funds sent from:

  • A personal bank account.

  • A payment or e-money institution where the original sender details are unreadable or do not match your account name.

As per our Master Service Agreement, we also reserve the right to refuse any transfer for compliance reasons.

I have accidentally sent funds from the wrong account, what happens now?

Pleo will send the funds back. It can take up to seven business days for the refund to be processed. Sometimes we need to get proof of transfer (PDF downloaded from your online banking) before sending the funds back. If that's the case, we'll reach out to your Pleo admin via email.
