Extra fees on transactions

Some merchants may charge an additional fee (merchant surcharge) when you pay with a corporate card to cover for card processing fees.

Merchants are required to show and get your approval for charging the fees. As the fees are usually not added to the receipt, this usually happens the moment you pay. Your approval will be requested on the card terminal and the extra fee will be visible on the receipt printed on the card terminal.

The decision to charge the extra fees is up to the merchant. To avoid merchant surcharges, ask the specific merchant to see if they charge them before making a purchase.
