How to set up employee codes

Employee codes link Pleo expenses to employee records in your accounting system for faster, more accurate reconciliation. Pleo automatically assigns a code to each employee/admin, and that will appear on all their expenses when exported.


The Employee Code is only available when you use the Netsuite, Business Central, or CSV/Custom Format integrations


  1. Go to People in the Pleo App

  2. Click on the person whose code you want to view or edit

  3. View the current code or click Edit to add a new one


The Employee code field should not be filled with any personal data. To ensure security and compliance, do not use:

  • Names

  • Personal email addresses

  • Personal phone numbers

  • IP addresses
