How to use Pleo's Legacy API

• The Pleo Advanced plan.

• The help of a developer

• An active token (see next section)

How to create a token

API Tokens are only for our Legacy API which has been deprecated and will be fully retired by December 31, 2024. Read more about the deprecation and migration. 

1. Open the Pleo web app and go to your "Settings".

2. Click on "Open API".

3. Click on "Create token" in the top right corner.

4. The token is only displayed once, so it's important to copy and save it in a secure location. Do not share any API keys in publicly accessible areas.

What to do when the token expires

You can always check the expiration date of the token on the API page in Pleo. Because the token is not automatically renewed, please delete the old one and create a new one. To avoid any errors, please remember to update the API token in any accounting programmes or third party tools.

How to delete a token

1. Go to the "Open API" page.

2. Find the token you want deleted and click "Delete" on the right hand side.

3. Click "Yes, delete token" to permanently delete (and deactivate) the token.
