With auto top-up, funds will be automatically transferred to Pleo when your Wallet balance falls below a certain amount.

Setting up auto top-up

  • Submit the Mastercard Agreement (you may have done this already)

  • Set proper thresholds reflecting your monthly spend to ensure you always have enough funds in your Wallet

Here is how it works:

  1. Define the balance threshold, which will trigger the auto top-up. We suggest that this should correspond to around 40% of your monthly spend.*

  2. Define the amount you wish to transfer. We suggest that this amount should correspond to around 3 weeks' spend.

Example: If your monthly spend is approx. 100.000 DKK, we recommend you set the balance threshold to 40.000 DKK and the top up amount to 75.000 DKK.

*If you are in a period of rapid growth or expenditure, we recommend setting a higher  threshold, e.g. corresponding to around 50-60% of your monthly spend.

Good to know:

  • At least one manual transfer is needed before setting up auto-top up. This is so that Pleo's Compliance team can whitelist your business bank account.

  • If the Wallet balance is already below the threshold when auto top-up is enabled, a transfer won't be automatically triggered. In this case, one last manual transfer is needed to get the balance over the threshold.

  • Pleo runs a balance check once a day in the morning.

  • The funds from auto top-ups will appear in your Pleo Wallet within 1-3 business days.

  • All admins will receive an email from Pleo each time an auto top-up has been triggered.

Low balance alert

Important to know: the low balance alert does not trigger an auto top-up; it only sends out an email.

By default, all admins receive an email when Pleo notices your Wallet getting low based on previous spending patterns. You can always switch to a notification based on the balance dropping below a certain amount. This is a good option for UK accounts, for which auto top-up is not available. To make changes to your low balance alert:

  1. Go to your Wallet.

  2. Click on Low balance alert (in the upper right-hand corner).

  3. Enter a notification threshold.

  4. Click Save.

However, if you have a Danish account and have enabled auto top-up, you might prefer to opt out of low balance notifications. To do so:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Click My account.

  3. Click Notifications.

  4. Adjust your Low balance alert notifications:
