Going through your own, your team's, or your entire company's expenses shouldn't be a hassle. We have therefore built a new and improved Expense view that gives you a much better overview of new expenses, as well as the context of them, faster.  

In the new view, you'll see various details depending on your role.  

For employees the list of expenses shows:

  • Search
  • Filters
  • Merchant name and the first letter of merchant name
  • Amount (in the original currency)
  • Date and time of the purchase
  • Note (if written)
  • Tags (if chosen)

Employees will furthermore experience that expenses without a receipt will have a blue dot next to it, indicating that it still needs their attention. 

The details of an expense show in a separate view when you click on it. In the details view to the right it shows:

  • Merchant name and first letter of Merchant name
  • Amount (in the original currency). Note that if the purchase was made in a foreign currency, this amount (in foreign currency) will be shown in parenthesis below the original amount once the purchase has settled.
  • A clock icon on the merchant's name if the purchase is pending (you can read more on pending purchases here)
  • Date and time of the purchase
  • Category
  • Tags
  • Note
  • A store for one or more receipts
  • An eye icon indicating how many have seen the details of this expense (hovering over it shows who)

For Managers, the expense list - in addition to the above - also shows:

  • Main category of the purchase
  • Name and profile picture of the expense owner


The details, in addition to the above, also shows:

  • Name of the expense owner's team
  • An Activity tab 

Administrators and bookkeepers see all the same details as employees and managers. On top of this, their expense list also shows:

  • Available wallet balance
  • A link to quickly top up the wallet
  • A link to the Manage Expense view (the blue button in the top right corner)

Seen 👁️ & Activity 

If you're in doubt of whether the expense owner, a manager or another administrator have had a look at the details of an expense, simply head to the top right corner of the expense details in the web app to see who have had a look at it.

For even more context around this, click the Activity tab to see when they looked at the expense.

On this view, you can see a chronological overview of events ranging from when the transaction was authorised and settled, details like when receipts, notes and tags were added or changed. 

All of this hopefully adds better context around every expense made.
